Anne-Marie Smith serves as President of Financial One Accounting. She holds her CPA designation and has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Accounting and Finance from Central Michigan University. She began her career at the CPA firm of McCafferty & Hogan and, during your 5 year tenure, specialized in audits and reviews of nonprofit organizations with McCafferty & Hogan.
With the extensive knowledge and experienced she gained, Anne-Marie wanted to make an impact on a variety of non-profit organizations and be part of their missions. When the opportunity to join Financial One as the first manager became available in 2001 she successfully and seamlessly made the transition.
As the organization grew, Anne-Marie became the Vice President of Financial One until June of 2020 when she assumed the role of President, succeeding the Founder. As President, she oversees multi-tiered accounting services, consulting, and special projects engagement for over 100 organizations, managing $700 million in assets and over 85 team members. Under her leadership, the firm’s primary objective continues to be to help their clients advance their mission and to give back both personally and professionally in ways that effect positive change.
Over the years, Anne-Marie has provided management and business advisory services including process improvement, long-term viability assessments and restructuring evaluations. She has led Financial One’s robust client organizational turn-around team, as well as regularly provides educational and consultative services to numerous boards of directors and other governing bodies regarding a variety of topics including fiduciary responsibilities and internal control. Anne-Marie’s passion is what continues to drive her commitment to her work and the organizations we serve.
Anne-Marie is married to Ted DeVantier, Executive Director of Macomb Residential Opportunities, Inc. and they have two children, Luke and Alia.
